2025 WSA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN ÖSTERSUND SWEDEN (PROVISIONAL)

Deadlines

10 January: Final deadline for WSA members to request starting places and pay fees to secure starting places
24 January: First payment deadlin
24 January: Second (final) payment deadline
Changes to classes entered can be made by the team leader until the first team leader meeting 6 February @ 15:30 hrs).

The use of fluorinated ski waxes is banned in the Ski Arena in Östersund. Violations of this ban will be penalised
Mushers have the possibility to stay overnight on a stake-out next to the Östersund Arena. The cost of the stake-out is €30 per night (includes electricity; minimum stay: 3 nights). Teams or individual mushers can also hire wax cabins. They are 25 m2 large, heated and come with electricity. Costs are €30 per day or €80 for the duration of the Championships. Bookings can be made through: https://ostersund2025.com/contestant-info/wax-cabins
To be able to compete at the 2025 WSA World Championships Sprint & Mid-Distance, mushers need to have paid for their WDL for the 2024/25 season.
- All payments (starting fees and WDL fees) must be made by our national members. Payments by individual mushers will be returned.

Please find below the details for the 2025 WSA World Championship in Östersund, Sweden. The Championship will take place from 7-9 February 2025.

Program (provisional):

Stake out opens: 5 February @ 12:00 hrs (DOGS MUST HAVE PASSED VET CHECK BEFORE ENTER)
Vet check: 5 February (12:00 – 20:00 hrs) & 6 February (09:00 – 16:00 hrs
Trail inspection: 6 February from 13:00 hrs - 15:30hrs only on skies NO DOGS!
First team leader meeting: 6 February @ 15:30 hrs
Opening ceremony: 6 February @ 17:30 hrs
Further team leader meetings: 7, 8 and 9 February @ 07:30 hrs
First start first heat: 7 February @ 09.20 hrs
Mushers' dinner & party: 8 February @ 18:30 hrs
First start second heat: 8 February @ 8:30 hrs
First start third heat: 9 February @ 8:30 hrs
Price giving ceremony: 9 February@ 16:00 hrs

Fees:

Fee to secure starting places: €20 per place. This is a non-refundable fee that will be deducted from the starting fee. Should the Championship need to be cancelled, this fee will remain with the organisers to cover the costs they incurred
First start: €160 (this includes 1 voucher for the mushers’ dinner at The Arena Restaurant . Additional vouchers for the mushers’ dinner cost €20).
- Second start: €60
- juniors: Free (includes 1 voucher for the mushers’ dinner)
- Late payment fees for entries/payments received after the first payment deadline: €20 (applies also to juniors)

Please note:

Registration:

- National WSA members must request the number of starting places they require no later than (date will come)

- All competitors must be confirmed by their national WSA member for the entrey to be final.
